Tips generally fall between 20-35% of the cost of the charter depending on your experience and the service level provided. We find most clients tip either $80, $100 or $120. You are welcome to prepay your gratuity or tip the captain at the end of trip 

With the most up to date radar / sonar / NOAA weather information; Reel Teal and our captains will go out in light rain particularly if it is going to be scattered showers without lightning. We do not go out in lightning or thunderstorms, but all other weather related cancellations will be at the discretion of the captain.

In the event of a rain out / weather wash out; client can pick between receiving a full refund or utilizing the amount as a deposit on another charter.

Please use the bathroom before arrival at the boat ramp, as there are no public restrooms available.

There are lots of restaurants and bathroom facilities around Wrightsville Beach to use the restroom in case of emergency (Bluewater; Dockside; and the Fish House).

Pee in the water like everyone else  🙂

We partner with Blackburn Brothers Seafood at 440 N Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC.  They have the professional equipment and can clean your fish cheaper, easier and more thorough than we can do on the boat with a knife on a cooler.

We offer FDA approved Electronic Anti-Nausea Wristbands. We also urge all clients to prepare by eating a light non-greasy meal before their charter, and to consider taking OTC nausea medicine with doctors approval if prone to motion sickness. Prevention is key!

However, yes, we can turn around if needed. Rebates are offered in special circumstances and to be requested through the captain and approved by the office. We don’t go out in weather that is unsafe or that is likely to cause seasickness. We have fishing areas that are many times blocked by wind and aren’t subject to ocean waves if the sea is rough.

Unfortunately, due to space constraints on the boat we do not allow pets. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability can be accommodated under certain circumstances, please call us in advance for details.

Reel Teal Charters does not supply any food for guests, however we do provide a cooler of ice available to store any drinks or snacks you'd like to bring.

Boat Cruise guests can request to be dropped off at one of our partner locations for lunch or dinner at the end of the charter.

Yes, but please drink responsibly. See alcohol policy in guest waiver.

Offensive, reckless, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate conclusion of the charter. Full payment will still be required.
